Careers with Real Altitude

We don't stand still, so why should you? Your ideas are our fuel.

Why not consider a career in aerospace?

Doing is one of the best ways of learning. Develop your skills and acquire valuable experience in a fast-paced, challenging and results-driven global organisation.

Combining study with on-the-job learning, our Modern Apprenticeships offer an exciting alternative to university and provide the foundation for a career in aeronautical engineering.

If you are hardworking, passionate and ambitious, we want to hear from you.
At Bombardier Aerospace, we know it's all about the people.

Modern Apprenticeship Programme

Our three-year Modern Apprenticeship Programme leads to an NVQ Level 3 certification in aeronautical engineering and provides practical training with pay.

First-year, off-the-job training takes place at our dedicated training facility and develops trainees practical skills.

In second and third years, trainees rotate around various operational areas to develop skills and knowledge required to successfully integrate into the company on completion of the apprenticeship.

Day-release to a local college of further education plays a key role in the programme.

Additional training

While working towards their NVQ qualifications, apprentices also get the opportunity to participate in additional training which includes Health and Safety, environmental awareness and essential skill programmes including IT-related courses.

How do I qualify?

Craft trainees must have at least two GCSE passes at minimum grade C (or equivalent) in Maths and English Language.

Technical engineer trainees are required to have at least four GCSE passes at minimum grade C (or equivalent) in Maths, English and two further subjects, one of which must be Physics or Double Award Science.

All apprentices join the programme on the same basis. During the first year, there is a selection process to select technical trainees based on performance and qualifications.

Application Process

It is important to us that prospective apprentices/employees have a good grasp of who we are and what we do. Knowledge is power – ensure you are well equipped.

Some of the key skills we look for include teamwork, accuracy, competence and good verbal communication skills.

Our next apprentice recrutiment campaign will begin in early 2015.  Applicants should be aware that the selection of successful candidates will be made in accordance with the eligibility criteria for the funding of Apprenticeships NI as set out by the Department of Employment and Learning.
